Esta pasada madrugada ha tenido lugar la lotería del draft de la NBA. Tras muchos meses de trabajo y frustraciones, las franquicias más perdedoras de la NBA fían su futuro a una buena elección en el draft, algo que ayer se sorteaba.
Los Minnesota Timberwolves consiguieron ese premio. La franquicia del Target Center reunirá en el roster a los tres últimos números uno del draft ya que adquirió a Wiggins y Bennett de los Cavaliers el pasado verano.
Ahora quedan semanas de duro trabajo de los rookies para impresionar a las franquicias aunque cualquier cosa que no fuera ver a Karl Anthony Towns o Jahlil Okafor con una gorra de los Timberwolves sería sorprendente.

Mientras JR Smith triunfa en Cleveland y lanza dardos envenenados a los Knicks, la franquicia de la Gran Manzana tendrá que empezar la reconstrucción desde más abajo de donde pensaban. Con una pésima temporada en la que han vendido todo lo vendible menos Anthony, Calderón y Bargnani, Phil Jackson esperaba un pick alto que finalmente será el cuarto. No podrán acceder a Towns que ya había expresado sus ganas de jugar en Nueva York. Tampoco podrán los Sixers que llevan dos años tankeando buscando el número uno del draft y las dos veces se han quedado con la miel en los labios. Los del Wells Fargo se llevaron el pick número tres por detrás de los Lakers que tuvieron suerte y se llevaron el segundo.
