Irving se estrena en playoffs a lo grande (113-100)

Kyrie Irving se estrenó en una velada de playoffs y lo hizo a lo grande. El que fuera número 1 del draft de 2011, ha tardado casi cuatro años en jugar un partido de postemporada y se estrenó de la mejor manera posible con una primera parte para enmarcar. Los Celtics jugaron una primera parte valiente en el regreso de los Cavaliers a los playoffs y se llevaron el primer cuarto gracias a una excelsa actuación de Kelly Olynyk que anotó siete puntos sin fallo partiendo desde el banquillo. El pívot canadiense fue el más destacado de los primeros minutos con una gran actuación también de Isaiah Thomas y Turner. Cleveland salió con el quinteto de lujo con James, Smith, Love y Mozgov acompañando a Irving de inicio. El equipo de Stevens se mostró  confiado de vencer en los primeros instantes de partido y basando su juego en una sólida defensa, Boston impuso su ley en el primer cuarto y en la primera mitad del segundo cuarto. Entonces apareció Kyrie. Cuando los Celtics se iban para acercar a los suyos y cuando los Cavas se acercaban para empatar o ponerse por delante. Irving firmó un sensacional 4/4 en triples en la primera mitad para 20 puntos. Kevin Love tardó más que Irving pero también se sumó a la fiesta en el segundo cuarto con un triple decisivo para poner a los Cavs por delante. El de la Universidad de UCLA acabó con 19 puntos y 12 rebotes su bautismo en los playoffs. James acabaría con 20 puntos 7 rebotes y 6 asistencias mientras Isaiah fue el máximo anotador de los Celtics con 22 puntos y 10 asistencias. Cleveland regresó de forma triunfal a un playoff frente al último equipo al que se enfrentó hace ya cuatro años.
